Please be praying for the four students who suffered injuries, the shooter and everyone else connected with the shooting earlier today at Madison Junior and Senior High School.
No matter your season of life or whether you’re connected in any way to Madison Local Schools, events like these – especially when they happen at home – can serve as a violent reminder that things are not as they should be. Some people are with their child in the hospital; others are waiting to see their child who remains in lockdown or is now held in custody; some, like me, spent lunch around the table with their toddlers trying to unpack what and how these things happen; some may be overwhelmed with emotion, confusion and conflicting thoughts; and some probably don’t know what to think or how to feel.
There are many ways to respond to days like today. There is one God we get to bring our responses to. If you or anyone you know needs prayer, counsel, comfort or simply the presence of someone else, don’t hesitate to reach out to your community group, group leaders or to Matt, Michael or myself as your pastors. We love you all dearly and want to walk alongside anyone who is hurting in this time – or any time.
Join us in prayer that the Father of mercies and God of all comfort would make himself known to all who seek what only he can truly offer.
