Formed & Sent Podcast: John Chau, Martyr or Madman?

Toggle Sidebar

Today we’re talking about a story that’s been in the headlines for the last few weeks. On November 17, 2018, American missionary John Chau was slain on North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal near India by the very people he desired to live among. Perspectives on John’s decision to go, the risks that accompanied that decision, the preparations he made beforehand, and the very fact that he believed to have something this willfully isolated, unreached people group needed have been just as varied as they have been passionate. Depending on what you read or who you’re listening to, the same man can be painted as a martyr, a fool, or an egomaniac.

Matt, Michael, and Scott share their perspective on this week’s episode of the Formed & Sent Podcast.
