How We Hear Hard Words
(Hosea 11:12-12:14)

Main Idea:
Hearing hard words brings us back to the roots of our faith.

-

  1. People of faith aren’t flawless. (11:12-12:6)

  2. The “flawless” are foolish. (12:7-9)

  3. The foolish reject God’s protection. (12:10-14)

Reflect, Repent, and Respond

  1. When is it hardest for you to hear hard words?

  2. How is it freeing to know that confession and repentance are part of your faithfulness in Christ?

  3. Is there something you’re afraid or unwilling to repent of because it feels destructive?

  4. How is God trying to guard you with hard words?

  5. What steps can you take towards receiving them humbly without rejecting them defensively?
