Suffering Turns to Good
(1 Samuel 1:1-20)

Main Idea:
Each story of suffering is a window into the bigger story of God’s work.

-

  1. Life brings suffering (v. 1-10)

  2. Suffering demands response. (v. 11-17)

  3. Response reveals heart. (v. 18-20)

Reflect | Repent | Respond

  1. Who do you connect with most in the 1 Samuel opener?

    >> Who is the most difficult character to connect to?

    >> Where does Hannah’s suffering meet you in yours?

  2. Has your passion for God even been misunderstood?

    >> How does Hannah’s response to being accused of drunkenness help us when we are misunderstood?

  3. What does Christ suffering mean to those who are His?

    >> How does each moment / life / trial of suffering give a window in to the bigger story of God’s work to make all things new?
