More Than the Things of God
(1 Samuel 4:1-11)

Main Idea:
Trusting in the things of God is not the same as trusting God.

False saviors:

  1. Law of God.

  2. Community of God.

  3. Knowledge of God.

 
 

  1. How would you define your relationship with God?

    >> Is it built up on something other than Him?

    >> What good things are you tempted to make ultimate?

  2. What false savior are you challenged by the most?

    >> Law as God. Community as God. Knowledge as God?

  3. Trusting the completely finished work of Jesus transforms our relationship with God from leverage to love.

    >> How can God’s love shape your love for him, whether you win or lose, succeed or fail, or anywhere in between>
