Journey to the Throne
(1 Samuel 10:1-27)

Main Idea:
The crowning of a king teaches about leadership and living in light of the greatest king.

-

The pattern of leadership:

  1. Commissioned to lead. (v.1)

  2. Confirmed to lead. (v.2-8)

  3. Changed to lead. (v.9-14)

  4. Changed to lead. (v.15-27)

Reflection Questions

  1. In what area of life has God commissioned you to lead?

    >> From the seemingly insignificant, to the widely influential, what’s God stirring? >> From the general, to the specific, where's God working?

  2. How have you responded to his call to lead?

    >> Are you led by insecurity and fear? >> …By pride and overconfidence?

  3. What could your leadership look like, if you were freed from all those things, and simply lived, served, and led to build the kingdom of God, and weren’t distracted by building a kingdom of your own?

    >> What is God calling you to do right now?

    >> What does it look like to repent? …Believe? …Change? …Lead?
