Gospel Eldership Huddle | This Sunday (11/14)

We want to continually build a culture [and pathway] that challenges men towards the qualifications of biblical eldership... whether they ever become elders or not! While there are no biblical requirements for the number of elders any local church might have, we do want to regularly keep the calling and opportunity in front of us.

One way we do this at The Village is through a class we offer every other year called Biblical Eldership. The 9-session class is not a "road-to-becoming-an-elder" at the Village... or anywhere else, but it is a call to do some work, alongside other men, to pursue character development, knowledge, and grace together.

At the end of our time together, each man will know a little more about what biblical eldership looks like, thinks like, & lives like. If, by the Spirit's call, that opens up a pursuit of eldership, we'll gladly walk that slow, humble, winding road together, but as it is... here are the details of Gospel Eldership 2022:

OPPORTUNITY?

  • Meet with some guys to grow in the grace & knowledge of what a God glorifying life and ministry looks like in the local church.

  • Work through some resources to help shape our understanding of "biblical eldership. The workload will be a "decent-but-not-overwhelming-amount" of reading, response, and reflection on your own. We'll process together at each of the meetups.

WHEN?

  • 9 consecutive Saturday mornings, 7-830a (wake up, good morning!), beginning in January.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO IF I AM INTERESTED?

  1. READ this document which gives some more details and framework.

  2. Show up to the G|E Interest Huddle after gathering on Nov. 14th. (no more than 30 mins) -- If you are interested but can't make the huddle, let me know in advance.

  3. If this sounds like something you're interested in, FILL OUT the interest form.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

  1. Men connected to The Village. -- IF you have participated in Gospel Eldership before, but want to participate again, feel free to come to the huddle, fill out the form, and we would [probably] love to have you join us again! ;)

  2. Those willing to put some work in and see the class through.

  3. Those wanting to grow as a servant and leader who is devoted to Jesus, his people, and his mission.

  4. Note: Seating is limited so make the Interest Huddle a priority.

Thanks. Grace upon grace.
