Details: Village Summer Picnic | Sunday, June 13th

Hey church!

We're excited to hop back into our annual summer picnic tradition in just a couple of Sundays. As that day gets closer, I wanted to share with you a few details so you know what to bring, what not to bring, and what to look forward to!

  • Who: All Villagers (and folks you invite!)

  • When: Sunday, June 13th, 10:30am-1:00pm (food tentatively at 11:00am)

  • Where: Symmes Park, 401 South Third Street (Google Maps)

  • What's Covered: Main dishes (including kids' meals) from two food trucks (Best Thing Smokin' + Pretzelful), bottled water, and cookies.

  • What to Bring: Chairs or blankets, other drinks or snacks you might want, and any games or outdoor activities you enjoy (basketballs [there is a court!], frisbees, cornhole, etc.)

  • Where to Park: There is some street parking around the park itself, but if you're able-bodied and able to make the 0.2 mile / five-minute walk, we'd encourage you to park at The 210 to make the closest parking available to those who might find the trek more difficult!

  • Bonus: Unsung Salvage is doing a live-print of Village apparel made-to-order and available for purchase!

When you arrive at the park, stop by the welcome table first! We'll give you one meal ticket per person that you'll use at the food trucks when you order. This will let the trucks know that your main dish and/or kids' meal is being covered by The Village. We'll let everyone settle in starting at 10:30am, and by around 11:00am, we'll welcome folks, pray, and eat!

A quick note on the food trucks! A couple of years ago, we had one giant, slow-moving line for one food truck that ran out of supplies before everyone was served. For those who suffered through that, we are working to *not* repeat that again this time around! Not only do we have two (different!) trucks this year, but we made sure their turnaround times for dishes were much faster! They were made aware of our previous experience and assured us we'd have smooth sailing.

In the event it happens to rain that day, we'll move our festivities indoors and the food trucks will park outside The 210.

Thanks all!
