"Not Our Own" | Sunday Class on Gender & Sexuality

Hey all!

Beginning this Sunday and running for each Sunday in May, we'll be hosting a class from 9:00-10:00am called "Not Our Own" about gender and sexuality.

Why in the world would we want to do this? Because we want to cultivate a clear, compassionate, and evangelistic community for every facet of life and every kind of person. And this doesn't happen by accident. It happens by inviting the Lord to disciple us into maturity in Christ through his Word, the Spirit, and his church.

Who is this for? Primarily, the people of The Village Church. If you're open to hearing what the bible has to say, can be respectful of hearing what other people might say, know and trust The Village's commitment to Scripture and the gospel, and hope to be personally sanctified more than be armed with how to win shouting matches online, then this might be for you! There will be ground rules for any dialogue we have.

What will it be like? If you attended Indivisible last fall, it will be similar, but probably a little more "teachy" in tone. We'll get started right at 9:00am (so you can arrive early!), and we'll likely be meeting in the Youth Room at the end of the K-Ville hallway. Bring a bible if you have one and something to take notes. For sure, there's more to be said and explored than we can fit into five hours of classes, and yet we *do* want to make space for questions, too. We'll strive to do that each week, and we're dedicating a good portion of our fifth and final class to take and respond to your questions.

What if you can't make it? We'll be recording podcast episodes to recap the content. Due to the crazy month of May, however, it's a bit up in the air as to how quickly we'll be able to turn around episodes after their respective class. No matter what, there *will* be a way to hear what we have to say in the near future.

If you'd like to attend, please let us know you're coming so we can be ready for you! You can read more and register at myvillagechurch.com/notourown.

Thanks!
