What is the Village Arts group?
We are a gospel-centered group of artists who foster creativity and community by connecting faith and art in a way that challenges, inspires, and draws us into God’s Greater Story. All art forms and skill levels are welcome. We offer:
Feedback | Meet regularly (monthly) to share work, critique pieces, and encourage each other.
Accountability | Share specific goals of what you want to accomplish and what obstacles might be in the way.
Discussion | Look at what it means to be a “Christian” writer/musician/artist and discuss ways we can incorporate faith into various creative outlets.
Public Outlets | Work together to find or create outlets for creative works so that we can enrich the church and our community through art and storytelling.
When and where do we meet?
First Monday of the Month
6:30-8:00pm
The 210
210 S. Second Street
Hamilton, OH 45011
What should I expect?
Prompt | 10 to 15 minutes of focused creative time sharing art created around a particular topic, scripture, or inspiration provided by the group.
Discussion | Group discussion on craft and creating with the purpose of growing in both skill and discipleship. This usually comes from a book, article or podcast.
Critique | Those interested in feedback can share a piece ahead of the meeting time to be critiqued or reviewed by the group.
Support | Share ways we can be encouraging one another and set creative goals for the month.
What should I bring with me?
It would be helpful to bring with you a notebook, journal, laptop or whatever means you prefer to make notes on, a Bible, and your current work in progress or ideas for future projects.
