Make a Difference in April | SAAM 2022

Every year during the month of April, we mark Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) by bringing to light the realities of and needs created by sexual assuault in our community. As a gospel-formed community sent on mission to the people around us, we get to be a part of the help and healing needed by those inside and outside The Village for whom sexual assault is part of their story.

Like we did last year, The Village will be accepting donations of essentials and coping items that will be packed in kits and delivered to the local office of Women Helping Women (WHW) right down the street from The 210. WHW provides various services at various times for survivors and are uniquely positioned to let us know which items are most helpful for survivors in our city.

How can I help?

There are three ways you can participate leading up to and during the month of April:

  1. Purchase items from this Amazon Wish List. (Going to myvillagechurch.com/saam will lead you there, as well.) You can choose to have it delivered to the Gift Registry Address, or you can have it shipped to your address and drop it off in the donation box at The 210. Donations will be accepted until Monday, April 25th.

  2. Help us pack kits on the evening of Wednesday, April 27th at 6:30pm. We’ll take everything that’s been donated and pack them into totes for WHW. They’ll be able to use these kits as they respond to needs and aid survivors. This packing event will happen at The 210 (210 S. Second Street, Lower Level).

  3. Spread the word! Let others know how they can contribute by sharing this page or the direct link to our Amazon Wish List (myvillagechurch.com/saam).
