We can’t avoid the harsh realities of life - those we see today and those we read about in the Scriptures.
As we approached Exodus 21-23 in our series through the book, we recorded a few side conversations in advance and published them on the podcast. Why? In those particular chapters, not only do we hear the Lord regulate slavery, but he also dives head first into laws concerning social justice. Today, these topics rightly stir up a lot of questions (and not a few strong feelings or opinions)!
So… what is the deal with slavery in the bible? How should Christians think about social justice? What’s all this about Critical Race Theory? As learners ourselves, we offer these honest, informed discussions.
These conversations aren’t meant to put a final nail in the coffin of any questions or concerns you might have. But as we navigate Exodus (and our culture at large!), we hope these serve as local, pastoral, biblical resources that wrestle with very real and complicated things.
